CHAPTER 31

DANSE II

Billy sat at the edge of his bed later that evening, holding the ebony-coloured dagger in his hands, rolling it left and then right, testing its weight and getting used to the grip of the handle.

I wonder how many lives this weapon had taken over the centuries. Can it really be that old?

“What’s troubling you, my love? You can talk to me, you know?”

Billy turned to Kisha, her dark brown eyes mirroring concern for him. He gazed into them affectionately. “I’m so proud of you my darling. You’ve been very brave. I’m just sorry about this big fuckin’ mess.” He hung his head.

“Don’t be sorry, it’s not your fault. I’m just glad we found each other again. I was so worried about you when you just disappeared.”

“Yeah. Sure.” Billy nodded and then smiled.

“Let’s just get through this mission and it’ll all be over soon,” said Kisha, reassuringly. “I’m also struggling with this. I mean, are these people - the Lemurians - for real?”

“Well, they believe themselves they’re legit. Let’s just say for a moment that they are. This means that every religion, every modern belief system is flawed. Most modern theories hold that creation began with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden about 6,000 years ago. Darwin theorised that, before this time, there were Neanderthals and before that apes and modern man evolved naturally. Science seems to corroborate both religion and Darwin’s theory of evolution but until now, I’ve never heard mention of civilisations that spanned hundreds of thousands of years prior to the story of creation as we know it. It does sound like a far-fetched fairy-tale, like the story of Atlantis. I do remember, though, Kaimi telling me that there was scientific proof of the existence of the Lemurian people and the mounting evidence that I’ve personally experienced over the past few weeks has definitely shifted my perspective on things, that’s for damn sure. Listen, I know that we haven’t had much time to talk since we were underground, but…”

Kisha placed her index finger over Billy’s lips. “Shhh. No more talking. Not now. We’ve had a long and eventful couple of days. Time to relax.”

Kisha increased the pressure of her finger, gradually pushing him down onto the bed. She nimbly hopped over his body and straddled him across his pelvis. He turned his mouth up into a smile when he realised what she was up to and shifted silently into the centre of the bed. She gently leaned forward, bringing her face close to his and pecked him tenderly from the base of his neck up towards his ears, first one side and then the other. She continued, delicately sucking his right earlobe and then darted her tongue around and inside his ear, causing him to squirm and then moan with pleasure. She moved across to his other ear, tightening her thighs around his, anticipating his moves like an expert rodeo rider. She closed her eyes and slid her wet tongue across his cheek, found his expectant mouth and dove straight in.
